The Hawaii Flying Club was formed in 2011 at the Kahului Airport in Maui County, Hawaii. The Club is organized as a non-profit Hawaii Corporation with each member owning one share. The Hawaii Flying Club has airplanes located on Oahu and Maui, with plans to expand to Bid Island and Kauai.

The Hawaii Flying Club has a maximum of 40 shares, and there are currently memberships available. Each member buys a share in the club which entitles the shareholder to 1/40th of the assets owned by the club.  A shareholder is able to sell his share on the open market and advertise that sale in a public forums such as Craigslist.  The sale price of shares from shareholders is not fixed but negotiable between the seller and the buyer.
